100 Years and Counting
Voices of Our World is brought to listeners every week by subscribing radio stations, websites and by the media arm of an organization known as Maryknoll, devoted to human rights and social justice around the world. Well, Maryknoll turns 100 this year and so today's program is a bit of an audio birthday card. In preparation for this centennial, last year our team visited Boston, the hometown of one of Maryknoll's 2 founders, Bishop James Anthony Walsh. Today we bring you some of Boston's Maryknoll admirers.

The Little Servant
Today we are pleased to be joined again by Maryknoll Missioner Father Mike Bassano. Although originally hailing from Binghamton, NY, since 2008 Fr. Mike has lived and served on the shores of Lake Victoria in northern Tanzania at Mji Wa Haruma, which means "Home of Compassion" in Swahili. More about his latest mission project on this edition.

Troop Of Individuals
We're closing in on the end of 2011. That means different things to different people: the end of a mercurial year for the fiscal genies of Wall Street, for example; and for our sponsor, the end of Maryknoll's Centennial year. And while all of the organization's members share a singular attraction to international human rights work, as individuals, Maryknollers are as diverse as their unique fingerprints. Today we bring 4 of such individuals: Maryknoll priests Frank Higdon, Bob Jalbert, John Barth and Gerry Kelly.
